It’s a horror! Which is why the airport bar is so essential, even if it’s so awful. Read the full investigation at Modern Drunkard Magazine!
My cover feature for the first (and possibly only) edition of N3Con magazine, on journalism, censorship, and technology in Asia. You can read it at ISSUU.
A story I’ve long wanted to write, for a magazine I’ve long wanted to write for. My expose of Korea’s dreadful treatment of non-white English teachers. Read it at THIS!
My huge, massively researched feature for Groove, and my third cover story for them, on the history of Itaewon, Korea’s once gritty, now swanky, foreigner neighbourhood. A huge amount of work went into this story, and it was rewarded by being voted Cover Story of the Year 2014 by Groove’s readers. Read it at Groove.
My blow-out feature for Groove on anti-black racism in Korea. Six months of research, dozens of interviews across three continents, an uncountable amount of internet and book research, plenty of legwork, and it came down to this 6000 word feature. Cover story for February 2014, it was widely featured, discussed, reddited, argued over, and debated throughout the country. Winner of Groove Magazine’s Insight Story of the Year, 2014. Read it at Groove.
My first feature for Groove magazine, and the cover story from November, 2012, about Korea’s forgotten sex slaves. Read here at Groove.
